THE CHALLENGE
The Casa Maka team wanted streamlined, tech-supported operations so their staff could focus on what mattered: delivering warm, personalized hospitality.
But here’s the problem, most hospitality tech is built for large-scale hotels and doesn’t align with the unique needs (or budgets) of boutique properties.
Mangrove was brought in to find and implement the right tech stack that could power Casa Maka’s vision without overwhelming their team or resources.
THE SOLUTION
With over 15 years in the hotel industry, Mangrove’s founder, Rigel, knew exactly how to approach the challenge. We started by creating a tailored Request for Proposal (RFP) grounded in real-world hotel operations, not just tech specs.
Rigel evaluated 5+ Property Management Systems (PMS) and ultimately selected one that:
Included an intuitive booking engine
Integrated a channel manager to sync inventory across OTAs
Aligned with the hotel’s budget and operational goals
But we didn’t stop at selection. Rigel partnered directly with the PMS company to design a custom training program that empowered the Casa Maka team from day one.
THE RESULTS
Casa Maka opened on time, fully tech-enabled, and staff-ready. Thanks to the right tools and a confident team, the hotel reached a 75% occupancy rate within the first month, a rare feat for a new boutique property.
